OUR RESURFACING PROCESS

Detailed Preparation. Professional Application. Quality Results.

At Contractors VP, we believe a successful resurfacing project begins long before the final coating is applied.

Our technicians follow a preparation and application process tailored to the condition and requirements of each surface.

01 — Work Area Protection

Before beginning, we carefully protect surrounding areas and fixtures, including floors, mirrors, faucets, showerheads, and other components that could be affected during the refinishing process.

02 — Surface Cleaning & Preparation

We thoroughly clean the existing surface using appropriate professional cleaning and preparation products to remove contaminants that could interfere with coating adhesion.

When necessary, we remove deteriorated or incompatible existing coatings and perform additional surface preparation.

03 — Sanding & Surface Refinement

We use professional sanding equipment and preparation techniques to improve surface uniformity and create suitable conditions for the new coating.

04 — Primer Application

When required by the surface condition or coating system, we apply a compatible primer to support proper adhesion and finishing.

05 — Professional Coating Application

Our technicians apply specialized, professional-grade resurfacing coatings selected for the intended surface and application.

We prioritize quality materials and careful application techniques to achieve a smooth, attractive finish.

06 — Decorative Finishes & Protective Topcoat

For eligible countertop projects, we can create decorative patterns and customized finishes.

Once the desired appearance has been achieved, we apply a compatible protective topcoat designed to enhance the final finish and provide the appropriate surface protection.

07 — Final Inspection & Care Instructions

After completing the work, we inspect the refinished area and provide instructions for proper curing, cleaning, and ongoing maintenance.

OCCUPIED & VACANT UNITS

Flexible Services for Multifamily & Residential Properties

We understand that resurfacing projects require different levels of coordination depending on whether a unit is occupied or vacant.

Our team performs resurfacing services in both environments while maintaining consistent preparation and application standards.

Vacant Units

Our resurfacing services help property management teams restore existing fixtures during apartment turnover and make-ready operations.

We coordinate with property representatives to complete the work according to the project’s scheduling and access requirements.

Occupied Units

For occupied apartments and residential properties, additional preparation and coordination are necessary.

Residents are required to remove personal belongings, toiletries, decorative items, and other objects from the designated work area before the scheduled service.

The work area must be accessible and ready for the technicians to begin.

For safety, residents and other occupants must follow the temporary access and reentry instructions communicated by property management and Contractors VP.

We provide a dedicated Occupied Unit Service Requirements document that property management can distribute to residents before the scheduled appointment.adft

AFTERCARE & MAINTENANCE

Protect Your Newly Refinished Surfaces

Proper care is essential to maintaining the appearance and condition of a resurfaced bathtub, shower, countertop, or sink.

Following the recommended maintenance procedures can help preserve the finish and reduce the risk of premature damage.

Allow Proper Curing Time

Do not touch, use, or expose newly refinished surfaces to water for at least 48 hours after completion, unless different written instructions are provided for the specific project.

Drying and curing times can vary depending on the coating system, environmental conditions, and surface type.

Recommended Cleaning Practices

  • Use mild, non-abrasive liquid cleaners that are compatible with refinished surfaces.
  • Clean with a soft sponge, microfiber cloth, or other non-scratching material.
  • Rinse surfaces thoroughly after cleaning.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to standing water or cleaning-product residue.
  • Maintain surrounding caulking and report signs of leaks or moisture damage.

Products & Practices to Avoid

To help protect the refinished surface, avoid:

  • Abrasive powders, steel wool, scouring pads, and stiff brushes.
  • Harsh chemicals, paint removers, acetone, and aggressive solvents.
  • Hair dyes and other products that may permanently stain or chemically affect the finish.
  • Suction-cup bath mats or adhesive accessories that may damage the coating.
  • Dropping heavy or sharp objects onto refinished surfaces.
  • Dragging equipment or accessories that may scratch or chip the finish.
  • Excessive scrubbing or pressure during cleaning.

Bathroom assistance equipment should be used in a manner that avoids scratching, puncturing, or placing damaging pressure on the refinished surface.

Resurfacing Quality Guarantee & Complaint Policy

Our Commitment to Quality

Contractors VP offers a limited workmanship warranty of up to one (1) year from the original service completion date, subject to the warranty terms applicable to the project.

Our warranty is intended to address eligible defects resulting from improper surface preparation or coating application performed by Contractors VP.

Warranty Evaluation

All warranty claims are subject to inspection and evaluation.

Contractors VP reserves the right to examine the affected surface and determine whether the reported issue resulted from a covered workmanship defect or from factors unrelated to the original resurfacing service.

Warranty Exclusions

The limited workmanship warranty does not cover damage caused by circumstances unrelated to our workmanship, including:

  • Improper cleaning or maintenance.
  • Abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, solvents, or staining agents.
  • Physical impact, scratches, chips, punctures, or excessive pressure.
  • Damage caused by bath mats, adhesive accessories, or equipment when such items contribute to the reported issue.

  • Repairs, alterations, or work performed by third parties.
  • Misuse or failure to follow the provided curing and care instructions.
  • Normal wear and tear unrelated to defective workmanship.

The use of accessibility or bathing assistance equipment does not, by itself, invalidate warranty coverage. Any exclusion must relate to damage caused by the equipment or its use.

Warranty Claims

To request a warranty inspection, the property representative or customer should contact Contractors VP and provide the property information, unit number when applicable, service date, a description of the issue, and supporting photographs.

If an eligible workmanship defect is confirmed, Contractors VP will determine the appropriate corrective action under the applicable warranty terms.

Warranty coverage, duration, limitations, and remedies are governed by the terms provided for the specific project. Nothing in this summary limits rights that cannot legally be excluded.
